The Middle School is a hive of activity where children have the opportunity to participate in a huge range of new and exciting experiences. Whether your child has a natural flair for sailing, sewing, saxophone or science, we will seek out the aspect of learning that really makes him or her ‘tick’.
With an hour’s sport every day, children are instilled with team spirit and confidence which filters back into the classroom. From Year 3, all ability levels regularly play competitive matches and tournaments against other local schools.
A caring family environment where children in Years 3 to 5 excel in their learning and co-curricular passions.
Excellent teaching and learning underpins all that we do. Working in small class sizes, the children enjoy our purpose-built and well-equipped facilities on a daily basis. The weekly timetable incorporates specialist teaching in Music, Art, DT, French and Sports, as well as the core range of academic subjects taught by our highly qualified and skilled Middle School team. Children make the most fabulous progress and have an enormous amount of fun whilst doing so.
Daily chapel services give us the chance to reflect on Personal, Social and Spiritual topics and to come together as a school and build those personal qualities that make Durlstonians so uniquely recognisable.
The Middle School gives children the chance to spread their wings and take steps to independence in a safe and stimulating Durlston family environment. The outdoor space known as ‘The Reef’ is a popular area for children to socialise and the garden is always a busy hub and source of healthy snacks! Those joining us at age 7 are carefully nurtured through this crucial and exciting stage of development.
