The following booklet (which can be found at this link) 'Providing a safe environment: A response to COVID - 19' (updated March 2021) sets out how we intend to fulfil our two main aims this term; to ensure the safety of all the children and staff at the school, and to provide a broad, balanced curriculum with a full educational experience for all year groups. With small class sizes and spacious grounds and facilities we are fortunate that we can continue to offer the full Durlston educational experience – high quality teaching, full pastoral support and new challenges, experiences and opportunities for all of our children in all areas – academics, sports, STEM and the arts.
We also recognise that ‘wrap around care’ is vital for many families. We have made adjustments so that we can continue our additional services such as a daily minibus service, hot lunches and ‘before school’ and ‘after school’ clubs and activities to help our families.
We hope that we do not return to a situation of lockdown, but if we do, we are certainly in a position to continue our high quality teaching, keep our community together and to maintain our high standards of education. This video shows what we did in the previous lockdown to provide a quality home learning experience and to support our families.
