Science Curriculum

Up to the end of Year 6 our Schemes Of Work cover Key Stages 1 & 2 of the National Curriculum.

Students study “Combined Science” and take the Key Stage 2 SATS exam towards the end of Year 6 – in recent years with phenomenal success (97% of our 2004/2005 Year 6 students achieved Level 5, the highest possible).

After this the course splits into the three separate disciplines and follows the 13+ Common Entrance syllabus. In terms of content this is 95% the same as the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum, although in many topics the level of study goes well beyond KS3 and overlaps with GCSE (KS4). Each science is examined separately.
