Romeo and Juliet cast comments

Wow, what a great play. I thought that Nick, Jasmine and Caroline were amazing! I played the part of Paris, a handsome count. It was my first role and I really enjoyed it, a fantastic experience. Rehearsals were fun and a real learning curve. It all pulled together...eventually the play was a success.
Will Rolph

Hello my name is Ben and I played the part of Friar Lawrence in ‘Romeo and Juliet’, I really enjoyed it and I think that it went well. This was my last play here and I am sure this and past plays will help with ones to come!
Ben Edwards

I played Balthazar (Romeo’s servant)- I tell Romeo that Juliet is ‘dead’ so it’s kind of my fault that he kills himself and then Juliet waking up and killing herself again (this time for real!)  It was a really good play this year and I wish that I could be here to see the next. Everyone did really well!

I played the part of Romeo in ‘Romeo and Juliet’. I found the role very enjoyable but it was also a challenge; but I enjoy challenges! Thank you to the whole cast, Mr. Fulton and the whole team for helping make the play work.
Nicholas Barker

I was the Nurse of Juliet in the play and I thoroughly enjoyed acting out the part. The nurse is a big, jolly person who looks after Juliet and Gives her advice when she has no one to talk to ... I can’t wait ‘till next year’s play!
Emily Wilson

I played Policeman number 2 in the play. I thought I was going to forget my few lines as I went on, but I remembered them! I thought Jasmine and Caroline were marvellous and looked stunning. When we had finished the play, I felt amazing although I didn’t do much!  Overall, I had a great time and I thought it was amazing.

Apothecary- Montague- Partygoer
I thought it was really fun being the Apothecary because I was very old and poor. Part of my costume was a mad scientist wig which was incredibly itchy. One part I didn’t like about my character was the crooked back, because after I got off stage, my back really hurt! I was also a Montague at a cafe and a party-goer at the Capulet’s party. My favourite scene was where Romeo & Juliet got married because Juliet looked really pretty.
Anna Cooper

In the production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ I was page for Paris, played by Will Rolph. Montagues and Capulets are bitter enemies but we would always have great rehearsals. My favourite scene was the party with the song ‘Queen Mab’. It was great! (Montagues are better than Capulets!)
Francesca Trent

Being in the performance ‘Romeo and Juliet’ has been a fabulous experience. Everything was so well organised, the props were fantastic!
I thought every part was very well picked. My favourite scene was the party; it was very funny when the song ‘Feel the Beat’ was put on because it brought some modern music to the show. Thank you to all those who helped!
Primrose Merritt

This year I was back-stage, and thought the play was amazing! I liked the party scene best. Thank you Mr Fulton

Romeo and Juliet was so much fun! I loved every minute. I had a good time making costumes and the whole experience was very enjoyable!

I was Juliet, split with Jasmine, we both shared the role. The play was really fun because all my friends are in it. But we all made our mistakes! It does not really matter because the show was a great success!
Caroline Elphick

As follow spot I spent my time on a large bit of scaffolding. It was very hot but meant I have the best view of the play on both nights my advice to anyone doing the follow spot is to take plenty of water!
