Revised Constitution1. Name: The Society shall be called the OLD DURLSTONIAN SOCIETY. 2. Objectives: The objectives of the Society shall be to promote and maintain close relationships among past pupils and between them and the school; 3. Membership: All those who have been 'in statu pupillari' at Durlston for not less than one term shall be eligible to become life Associate members without the power to vote. All members whether Associate or Full will be entitled to receive a copy of the Annual Publication posted to their current notified address., providing OD contributions were made, at the appropriate rate, during their career at Durlston. 4. Membership subscription: Subscriptions entitle Full Members OD's"' to receive the three issues of the termly 'News brief’OD Magazine annually and an invitation to lunch on the annual OD Day and any other reunion organised by the Committee. 5. Administration of the Society: The Committee shall consist of up to 12 8 elected members with full voting rights, to include the current Headmaster and Wife. Members will be drawn from Full Members.to be OD's or have past connections with the school. · The Chairman will be elected by the Committee from among their members and must be a Full Membern OD. The Chairman's duties are to chair regular Committee and Annual General Meetings. The position is an honorary one and the initial term of office is for two years but the Chairman may be re-elected for a further term of twoone years. The Chairman is then not eligible for re-election for two years. Where appropriate, in terms of succession of the Chairmanship, the post of Vice-Chairman may be created. · The Secretary does not have to be an OD but, if a non-member, the office holder will have no voting rights. The Secretary's duties are the running of the secretariat, organisation of reunions and other events, agenda and minutes of Committee and Annual General Meetings, and such other activities agreed by the Committee. · The Treasurer does not have to be an OD, but, if a non-member, the office holder will have no voting rights. The Treasurer's duties are the financial management of the Society funds. · Committee members must be fFull mMembers of the Old Durlstonian Society. The position is unpaid. Members will be elected at the Annual General Meeting. One third of the Committee shall resign after three years but may offer themselves for re-election. · Committee meetings shall be held a minimum of three times a year at dates mutually acceptable. The date of the A.G.M. to be published in the OD Magazine Newsbriefand the School web site. · The quorum for Committee meetings and the A.G.M. shall be 5 members. · The Committee is responsible for agreeing and supervising the operation of the Three Year Plan, controlling the financial budget, appointing the Executive and maintaining the objectives of the Society. 6. Annual General Meeting: The date to be published in the NewsbriefOD Magazine and the School web site. At that meeting, any elections of eligible members who have been proposed and seconded shall take place. Postal nominations must be received by the Secretary seven days before the meeting. 7. Finance: It shall be within the discretion of the Committee to recommend the revision of the amount of the subscription payable by those joining the Society from schoolas Full Members.
